    GIIS Tokyo Awarded the Prestigious Deming Prize for Total Quality Management

    The global milestone comes on the back of more than 600 awards won by the school’s parent organisation for best practices

    TOKYO, JP / ACCESS Newswire / November 12, 2025 / Global Indian International School (GIIS) Tokyo was today awarded the prestigious Deming Prize for Total Quality Management (TQM) – a global recognition of excellence, and a historic milestone that places the school among the world’s best institutions for quality and continuous improvement.

    The GIIS Tokyo Campus was awarded for its focus on development of students, teachers and staff through innovation, and its continuous improvement activities for excellent operational functioning.

    Established in 1951 by the Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE), the Deming Prize is one of the world’s most prestigious awards for Total Quality Management. It recognises organisations that have achieved outstanding performance through the systematic application of TQM principles, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.

    The award was received by Mr. Sumit Mishra, Country Director, GSG Japan who shared “As the first educational institution in the world to earn this honour, we reaffirm our commitment to continuous improvement and academic excellence. We’ll keep raising the bar for quality international education in Japan”.
